Traditional Thai massage
Thai massage dates back to over 2500 years ago, it has influences from both Indian Ayurveda and Chinese medicine. It treats mind and body, both physically and emotionally working holistically.
The ancient Royal Thai Traditional Medicine Text indicates that there are 72,000 channels originating inside the abdominal cavity. All 72,000 channels spread from the abdominal cavity through the entire body via ten major life energy channels called “Sen Sib.”^The ancient art of traditional Thai massage is always done fully clothed. Working along the 10 sen sib lines (energy path ways) .
It works using varied pressure from light to strong. Everybody can benefit from Thai massage, choosing a soothing, deep relaxation treatment or a therapeutic treatment using deeper pressure to remove blockages. During a therapeutic treatment some discomfort may be experienced, this is normal and good communication with therapist is important.
Stretches are carried out helping with flexibility, range of motion and breathing techniques, allowing both receiver and giver to fall into a deep medative state of pure bliss to heal mind, body and soul.
I use a mixture of my hands, arms, elbows and feet. Thai massage has hundreds of different stretches which i carefully choose a selected few to personalise your massage to suit each individuals needs.
I also include an exclusive tox – zen treatment to my Thai massage. Tox-zen uses a wooden block and hammer to create a gentle vibration working on physical and emotional blockages, it is pain free and extremely relaxing. Thai monks use this treatment in temples in Thailand still today.
